Everytime I try to update the visual composer plugin, my site crashes and I need to restore a backup of the site. I am updating the visual composer plugin that came with the GEM theme through the normal wordpress update plugin page. I have had no problem updating any other plugins or any of the plugins included in the GEM theme. Can you help with this?

You need at first update gem elements plugin. (We upload new version 2 weeks ago)
If you can't enter to the the wp-admin area:
1. Via ftp remove folder
/wp-content/plugins/thegem-elements
2. Go to the admin panel and install gem elements plugin.
or pls. share the wp-admin and ftp access, we'll fix it.
