Since we purchased this theme, we have had the problem that nearly every time we upload files to the media gallery, the website somehow stops working and gives us the error:
Service Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
Additionally, a 503 Service Unavailable error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

In order to fix this, we need to contact the host. But this is just a temporary fix, as it keeps happening. Help would be very much appreciated.

Sorry, it's not theme issue, there are some problems on your host. You hoster must check error.logs and fix this issue.
