I am facing a similar problem. I want to add a product filter on the left sidebar but how to make it enable. Currently the sidebar is not visible at all. Please help me if you have found a solution. Plz check the attached screenshot. I want to add sidebar with filters.

You need to set sidebar side on your main shop page (in the page settings) and add widgets in the Appearance > Widgets
Please note if you comment on your ticket before we reply, your ticket will be pushed down of the tickets list.

Gregor's solution worked for me. I have set the sidebar (Left and Sticky) on the main shop page, through editing the page. Thanks a lot for the reply.
