I had a ticket open already about this issue and then closed it. I also reviewed existing tickets, before creating this one.
I have seen tickets about the navigation not working on mobile and the solution is to click the check box - "Make clickable on mobile" - in the menu area. I have this box checked and this issue is not fixed. Using the latest version of Chrome the main navigation isn't clickable in the sense that I can not get to the page associated with that link. When I click on it, it opens up the drop down menu. I feel I have identified the issue in the JavaScript. I have attached it to this ticket. When I touch on Primary Tillage for example and inspect what is happening the JavaScript actually prevents the URL from advancing.
So basically on a touch device that is large enough to still show the entire menu and not use the hamburger menu, is it possible to click on top level navigation links that also have a drop down navigation and be able to advance to the top level page?
The mobile (phone) version, that you are showing a screen shot of, works fine. But the mobile (iPad) version doesn't function the way I would of liked. I'm using the web inspector tool in Chrome and then I am using the toggle device toolbar to mimic how the site will function when viewed on an iPad. My co-worker is also experiencing this issue on a laptop, even though he has touchscreen capabilities turned off. What happens is when i click on Air Carts I get the drop-down menu. I can't actually get to the air carts page: http://www.amitytech.phppreview2012.servers.onsharp.com/air-carts/
Just making your browser window smaller doesn't have the same effect. The JavaScript recognizes the device is a touch screen and then prevents the main navigation that also has a drop-down menu, to basically not work.
There are only one way: don't use parent pages as an menu items. I compared this with Apple and Microsoft websites, here the situation is the same, this websites don't use loading of parent pages.
