I have troubles to make the theme options (under appearance) work. Things like the fonts or the colors option doesn't seem to work at all. Is there any thing to do in order to make it work?
Also, should the changes be immediate or is there any time for the changes to appear?

Check your site now, I changed the color of links in the menu without problems.
Sorry, not quite sure what do you mean. Can you pls provide more details with screenshots?
This setting works. Compare the display of your site when you change this setting.
