You try to use a premium template library, which is available only in a standalone license version of Visual Composer. We have included Visual Composer in our theme as a bundled plugin under developer license. This means, that all features and functions are available for usage, except additional template libraries, which are part of the standalone premium license.

When I try to download templates for new WP pages, I get a notification stating that templates failed to download.

I'm not sure if it's a visual composer issue, or with thegem, or what, but I cannot seem to be able to download any page templates.
