I have this problem with both the backend / frontend difference WP Bakery editor.
I found tutorials for the WPBakery Page Builder, and the templates fail when I try to bring one into a page. When I click on any of these templates, as the tutorial shows... I get a failure error: "Failed to download template."
When I watch this video, it also states that I should be able to see drop-down template options for the traditional Wordpress page editor (like I used in my old site) – with an option to choose a full-page layout. I don't have any options in my templates from that builder. They did this first when creating a page, and then moved to the WPBakery Page Builder site... I am wondering if some of the templates are installed for my site?
You try to use a premium feature, which is available only in a standalone license version of Visual Composer. We have included Visual Composer in our theme as a bundled plugin under developer license. This means, that all features and functions are availbale for usage, except additional template libraries, which are part of the standalone premium Visual Composer. license.

Hi Gregor, We have purchased a premium license for Visual Composer (WPBakery), but we are unable to activate the premium version. Here is what their support site says:
"2.6 I don't see License tab in WPBakery Page Builder settings
It could be so that your WP theme author disabled License tab of WPBakery Page Builder within his/her theme configuration. It is necessary to contact theme author directly to get information on how to enable License tab by removing his/her custom blocker."
Please give us the information on how to enable License tab by removing his/her custom blocker.
