i want to ask dat i have activated thegem parent theme .and make several changes in functions.php.. now i wanna activate child theme to preserve all the data .my question is that if i activate the child theme ,,all my information/data of parent theme will be saved or not .

your data will be lost after the next update themes. You need to install a child theme, and make changes to it.
