It would be great to be able to specify a global fallback font chain that is used as a backup in case the selected webfont is still loading. Right now, on a slow connection in Chrome on Mac, for instance, you'll see a serifed font like Times New Roman while the sans serif font loads, which is pretty jarring.
In addition, support for the upcoming CSS font-display in the @font-face property would be nice.

I've actually already addressed it on my end by modifying functions.php to include font-display in the @font-face section and modifying custom-css.php to add fallback fonts for each customizable font family. This was more intended as a feature request for future updates.
