I installed The Gem Wordpress Theme on my site; however, I am unable to customize the theme. Every time, I click on Appearance->Customize, it just goes to a blank white page. I called the hosting company and they were receiving the following error messsage on the server, when I would click on Customize (even with all Plugins disabled).

Please install and activate WPBakery Page Builder plugin
I do have the WPBakery Page Builder plugin installed and activated. It is still giving me the same error message on the server.

Please activate debug mode in wordpress config. I don't see error on site.
