Hi there, it seems that The Gem theme has a super limited version of WPBakery, there are a lot of standard options missing which are in Moose for example, such as aligning content left/center/right, padding top and bottom, as well as no fullwidth page templates only the default template which sites in a grid etc. Is the UX a little clunky and am I missing something or does this theme not have some of the standard Elated and WPBakery features?

It looks like this theme was developed by a completely different team to the one who built Moose. I totally love the theme demos, but the UX of the backend and theme options are making me want to go back to Moose.

    Help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Gregor,

    Thanks for the reply.

It's things like not having the option to align text,  and having the row margin, padding etc. all in one place, in the parent row.

I'm also missing page builder options Custom Font (being able to type out strings with css), Interactive Banners (which I use  lot) etc. from Moose. Elated Options in Moose is also much more detailed than The Gem Theme Options, such as styling options Contact Form 7.

Somethings in The Gem are better, like the FAQ component in the page builder, CSS effects.

I think The Gem is sexier than Moose in terms of CSS animations etc., but Moose's UX is more intuitive and the functionality is more powerful.

Some issues I'm experiencing in The Gem at the moment are:

    - image carousel not loading full width and displaying correctly.

    - layers in the Revslider are displaying differently on different browsers (positioning/scaling)

    - some of the Google fonts aren't displaying to users and when I'm not logged into the site

Regarding the carousels, I'm getting this error in the console:

    • "carouFredSel: Set a width for the items!      jquery.carouFredSel.js?ver=4.9.8:16 "

Regarding the Google Font display issue:

    • "Access to Font at 'https://timewarpza.wpengine.com/wp-content/themes/thegem/fonts/montserrat-ultralight.ttf' from origin 'http://timewarpza.wpengine.com' has been blocked by CORS policy: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'http://timewarpza.wpengine.com' is therefore not allowed access. The response had HTTP status code 401."

    I've attached a screenshot.

    Hi,

I've fixed the issue with the fonts, but I see the problem with site URL, there images loading from the .local server, did you made data base migration?

Also you need to find  all the images on the page and set https connection, there. Open page in the text mode:

    https://timewarpza.wpengine.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=15326&action=edit

And change it to https there.
