Hello, I can't understand what child-theme is for. Can you explain me, please?
I want to use one of the TheGem demos and then modify it by adding and removing things without being affected by changes in the future updates, should I install the child-theme?
I don't know very well what is changes on the source code and why could I do it. I want to use the WPBakery Page Builder, Gutenberg editor, and the TheGem theme options.
Is it possible to add changes in the source code inside of WordPress or is it necessary to use something like Filezilla?
We don't recommenced to make any changes via the admin dashboard, any simple typo can broke the site. If you won't add changes in the source code, ignore step with installing child theme.

Change the demo photos, replace the demo texts, hide the demo sections that I don't want to show, add new elements like text, separators, sections, images with WPBakery Page Builder, select the available font for each text...

So, how can I personalize the theme without using the Admin dashboard?

In this case you don't need to edit theme code, take a look:

So,
- If I work in the parent theme (not child), my website will not be affected by the future theme updates?
- Can I work now on the parent theme and in the future install the child theme if I need to edit theme code? Can there be any inconvenience?
