Without the code changes it's not possible to change default layout. You need to edit template:
/wp-content/themes/thegem/index.php
Example of changing default style you can see in the template:
/wp-content/themes/thegem/search.php
Before the editing copy file index.php to the child theme for the safety updates.
Please note if you comment on your ticket before we reply, your ticket will be pushed down of the tickets list.
