I set up my site using theGem Theme, registered it in the Google Search Console and got the following two errors from the Mobile crawler
1. Text too small to read
2. Viewport not set
The first one is debatable, I think the text size is just fine as it is. But the second one worries me: What do I have to do within theGem to set the viewport?
Clearly not, the site is accessible (https://twjst.photo). I also have access to the backend to modify the configuration.
The Google Search console help states the following regarding viewport:
Viewport not set
The page does not define a viewport property, which tells browsers how to adjust the page’s dimension and scaling to suit the screen size. Because visitors to your site use a variety of devices with varying screen sizes—from large desktop monitors, to tablets and small smartphones—your pages should specify a viewport using the meta viewport tag.
So I need to be able to set this meta tag somewhere in the theme. Otherwise my Google ranking will suffer from the start, which is of course not acceptable.
hold on - it may be that the google report is from a version before the site was live. Let me check again tomorrow, if the problem still persists, I will write again.
