The lazy loading functionality of your theme is being triggered on the XML sitemaps and a piece of JavaScript code is being added to the page which causes this issue.

We recommend getting in touch with your theme provider and reporting this situation so they can advise how this can be disabled on the XML sitemaps so they start loading correctly.

I can see that the sitemaps have been rectified but now we are unable to work on the backend of the website, our hosting providers seem to think that it is linked to the changes that you have made.

I am having the same issue the sitemap is not working again.

https://pure-medical.co.uk/page-sitemap1.xml is currently not fetching. Google search console has dropped from over 400 pages indexed to just 51.
