I am trying to use the grid builder to create a news grid, but I am unable to get the button customized exactly the way I want it. I have it set to custom style and set the background and text color, but there is no option for hover colors or font type, size, and weight. I added a class and added some custom CSS, but it doesn't inherit any traits from the existing classes, and the original button overlays the custom traits.

Am I missing something? Is there an easier or better way to do this? Or can you provide the CSS elements needed to adjust correctly?

As noted in my original ticket, I am in the grid builder; your directions are not. The button module in the grid builder does not have the style tab.
