Have two issues in one.  I attempted to use the "Built in header" but the header was blank and not sure where to go to edit that "Built in header".  I imported a header and edited it with the Header Builder, but now there is no way to add the Top Bar.  Is there a way that I haven't be able to find in the documentation?  Would like to have the top bar for phone number, address and social media icons, if possible.  Thank you for any help you can provide.

I think I answered my own question.  There are header templates with the top bar on them, and I unfortunately chose one without.  I am importing a header template with the top bar on it now.  Sorry for my confusion.  Still not sure why the built in header never showed anything, but I sometimes prefer to build out a header out anyway so no worries.

    Hi,

In TheGem there are two types of header available:

    - Built-In Header

    - Header Builder

The type of header you wish to use can be specified in:

    1. TheGem Theme Options globally for the whole website here: https://prnt.sc/8yUk-OAxk9nZ

    2. TheGem Theme Options for individual post types and archive pages here: https://prnt.sc/6ReClc84kS7T (please note: if enabled, these settings override the settings made in 1)

    3. Page Options for individual posts and pages. Page Options are available while editing post / page in WP dashboard here: https://prnt.sc/dcwtTX2MMnTl . Please note: if enabled, these settings override the settings made in 2 and 1

    Built-in header

I suppose by referring to built-in header in your first message you have mentioned the header builder or am I wrong?

Built-in header can be selected in Theme Options here:  https://prnt.sc/Ss8aYO2kJdbM Here you have a large set of different prebuilt header settings like navigation layout, top area, header style presets, menu options etc.

The top bar you are referring to is the Top Area. For the built-in header it can be activated or disabled using this setting in Theme Options: https://prnt.sc/mTALwwG1iPyz , and then adjusted using these settings in Theme Options: https://prnt.sc/YLomVJyQEUcO

    ----

    Header Builder

However, the built-in header doesn't have an absolute flexibility in creating header layouts as it is limited to the elements and options provided in Theme Options.  If you wish more flexibility (like in your case: to add countdown widget) you would wish to use the Header Builder.  The Header Builder allows you to create header layouts directly in Elementor (the same way like in Elementor Pro). You can create the header template here: https://prnt.sc/WKQ-ufKNTmEA by clicking on add new.  You can then select if you wish to use some prebuilt header template (we delive over 60+ different header templates you can choose from): https://prnt.sc/XwRI-lGhjLTA  or you can start from scratch: https://prnt.sc/90q8UqX4TXrG After Elementor is loaded, you can see the header specific elements in the Elementor panel here:  https://prnt.sc/VhHRe-9vgS64 Of course, you are not limited only to these elements - you can use any of content widgets to add to your header.

After you are done creating your header template, you can activate it in:

    1. TheGem Theme Options globally for the whole website here: https://prnt.sc/w6xMuTl6t_XN

    2. TheGem Theme Options for individual post types and archive pages here:

    https://prnt.sc/UmDax9v59u9z

    3. Page Options for individual posts and pages. https://prnt.sc/WZM709XQToWV

    Hi Oliver.

Thank you for that detailed explanation.  That will come in handy in the future.  As stated in my last comment I did figure out the differences in the two types of headers, and was able to get what we needed on the site successfully.  I appreciate your response and help.

    Have a great day!
