Random issue with category display on certain devices in private browsing mode

    Hello,

I am encountering an issue with the TheGem Theme Elements (for WPBakery) plugin. The problem manifests randomly on different devices and browsers, particularly in private browsing mode, where post categories do not display properly. The issue persists despite clearing caches, deactivating all other plugins, and changing themes. However, when I deactivate TheGem Theme Elements, the categories display as expected.

    Details:

    • Theme: TheGem v.5.9.9
    • WPBakery Version: v.5.9.9
    • PHP Version: 8.3.9
    • Problem occurs across multiple browsers and devices, but behaves inconsistently, appearing more frequently in private browsing.

I have thoroughly tested for conflicts by deactivating other plugins, but the issue remains. Is this a known problem, and could a plugin update or specific configuration resolve it?

    Thank you for your help!

    Best regards,

    Hi,

Can I temporarily disable third-party plugins on your site myself to eliminate their influence on this issue?

  • LAURA replied

    Hi Michael,

Yes, feel free to temporarily disable third-party plugins.

Please let me know if you need any additional access or assistance in the process.

I've also attached a screenshot in case you're unable to reproduce the bug, as it tends to appear randomly

    Thanks again for your support!

I have temporarily disabled all third party plugins and optimisation tools.

Please check if this problem is currently recurring on your end?

  • LAURA replied

It seems to be working fine now on my end.

Do you have any idea what might be causing this issue? Have you encountered it before?

The problem is most likely caused by one of the third-party plugins.

Try activating them one by one to identify this problem.

    Hi again,

I'm facing another issue that seems to persist even with all third-party plugins disabled.

Please find attached a screenshot from my client, taken on their iPad and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

It appears to be a caching problem, but all caches are disabled and cleared on the devices.

I’m not sure what’s causing this. Do you have any ideas?

    Hi,

Perhaps your site is using server-side optimization?

  • LAURA replied

    Hi,

Thank you for checking. As far as I know, there is nothing special configured on the server side. No additional server-side optimization tools or caching beyond what Cloudflare is handling.

Could you please clarify this information with your hosting administrator?
