This i have achieved from the search page in the theme settings. but i cannot seem to find a way to adjust the results when they are displayed in a full overlay. For now its just images with not even text (see attachment).
Thank you for your reply. This portfolio layout in the live search results overlay is the built-in layout, there are no specific extra settings for this appearance. In order to be able to change this appearance the code customization of the overlay template will be needed.

You can implement the customizations in the functions.php file of the child theme, look for the function " thegem_ajax_search", inside this function you will find thegem_woocommerce_search_posts_content and thegem_woocommerce_search_portfolios_content as the starting points for the customization.

I have a question regarding your search form module and where it is applicable.
What I want to do is create an Ajax Search in a custom Mobile and Desktop Menu.
I have tried to unput the search form there but its not loading live search.
If i use it in any other page eg 404 with a search form it works(Ajax live search works).
Moreover I do not have this configuration mentioned here, so i can adjust the live search pop-up:

Obviously I am missing something.

as you are using the header template built with the header builder, you need to edit your header template https://emal.gr/wp-admin/post.php?vc_action=vc_inline&post_id=25258&post_type=thegem_templates and add any of these search elements https://prnt.sc/F5nediksucRd , in the settings of these elements you can then enable the live search functionality. I have now added the search form as an example, please check.
