I would like to remove the thumbnail element from my post grid on the home page of my website but I am unable to find a way to do this. Do i need to change some coding and if so which part and in which css file?

I don't fully understand you. Please get more info with images.

Please see attached, we want to remove the image from the posts on the home page.

Your doc file is empty please remove space in filename and attach again.
