    Hello,

On my site, I have allowed for the contacts to appear in the footer and in the header top bar. However, the term 'Address' doesn't get translated to 'Adresse' (in French) as it should in the footer. I have attached a screenshot of the theme option page (correctly translated) and of the footer (not translated).

I would also like to make the phone number clickable both in the footer and the header (screenshot attached) but can't find where to modify it.

Would appreciate your help on these 2 points,

    Thanks,

    Capucine

    HI!

    1.

You can translate the theme's PO files using poedit https://poedit.net/

However, you can translate the theme's PO files using poedit https://poedit.net/

    Translation of the theme:

    1. Go to the theme folder and click on folder "languages" (wp-content / languages). Here find the file thegem.pot. Download it and open this file using poedit application, edit your translations and save it as a thegem-XX_YY .mo / .po. Instead of XX_YY use your language code. You can find the list of language codes here https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/. As an example, the language code for English is en_EN
    2. Using your FTP, create a folder "themes" inside the folder wp-content / languages and upload the PO file you have translated.

Translation of the theme's "elements" plugin:

    1. Go to the theme's plugin folder (wp-content / plugins / thegem_elements) and select folder "languages". Here find the file thegem.pot. Download it and open this file using poedit application, edit your translations and save it as a thegem-XX_YY .mo / .po. Instead of XX_YY use your language code. You can find the list of language codes here https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ . As an example, the language code for English is en_EN
    2. Using your FTP, create a folder "languages" inside the folder wp-content / languagesand upload the PO file you have translated.

Tell Wordpress what language to use:

You need to make sure your wp-config.php file matches your language files. For example, if you’re using a French translation, you’ll need to add the thegem-fr_FR.po and thegem-fr_FR.mo files to your theme and plugins folder (see above), then set your language in wp-config.php, like this:

    define ('WPLANG', 'fr_FR');

By the way, your wp-config.php file is located in the main directory where all your core WordPress files are located.

Save your wp-config.php file, upload it to your WordPress installation, and you are ready to go.

    2. You need to edit

    /wp-content/themes/thegem/inc/content.php

    line 120.

The French file in language is translated correctly, so I used the second part of your answer and edited the inc/content.php file. However, I haven't been able to override it in my child theme, so th eissue will appear again at the next update. How can I override it in my child theme directly to avoid that?

    Thanks,

    Capucine
