Sorry, we did not change documentation. Wordpress from version 4.3 has own interface for this. You can change favicon in Appearance -> Customize -> Site Identity -> Site Icon.

Following issue: According to the manual uploadingFAVicon should be on page „General → Identity“. Sorry can't find there.
